So I’m currently writing The Warriors: Jailbreak, a four-issue series that begins when the 1979 film The Warriors ends. Jailbreak’s drawn by Todd Herman (Fall of Cthulhu: Nemesis, Cut, The Fog) and Herb Apon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Oz), inked by Nick Nix, colored by Jeremy Treece, and published by Dabel Brothers Publishing.
Jailbreak’s first issue hit comic shops everywhere on July 22, 2009, and the series officially launched at Comic-Con International. If you’re curious but stingy, check out a five-page preview of the first issue over at Comixology!
Where can you get the book? First, please visit your local comic shop (you can find one close to you here). If there aren’t any comic shops near you, you can order issues online here.
MATTERS OF THE HISTORICAL RECORD:
• On June 2, 2009, Rick Marshall at MTV’s Splash Page posted a 10-page preview of Jailbreak #1. On July 20, 2009, Marshall—once again showing uncommonly good taste—selected Jailbreak #1 as one of the week’s “best bets.”
• On July 14, 2009, Todd, Herb, and I were interviewed about Jailbreak by Cort and Fatboy. You can listen to that interview here.
• On July 15, 2009, Elisabeth Forsythe at TFAW.com was kind enough to post an interview with myself, Todd, and Herb about Jailbreak. You can read it here.
• On July 17, 2009, there was a release party for Jailbreak at Bridge City Comics. More info on that event can be found here.
• On July 24-26, 2009, Todd, Herb, and I lurked around the Dabel Brothers booth at Comic-Con International and signed copies of Jailbreak. Were you there? Did you get a signed copy of Jailbreak? THEN YOU WERE A PART OF HISTORY.
• On September 2, 2009, Todd, Herb, and I were guests on The Famous Mysterious Actor Show. Details, such as they are, can be found here and here.
• On September 27, 2009, Todd Herb, and I appeared on Outlook Portland. More info here and here; the entire thrilling episode, split into four exhilarating segments, can be viewed here, here, here, and here.
